Do you know that Travel makes you a Happier Person?
Travel is good for lots of things, but it can also increase mental well-being – and not just in the short-term. Whether you’re traveling for business, on a one-week holiday with family or friends, or have sold everything to pursue a life on the road, traveling can make you a happier person by building self-confidence, providing new experiences and memories, breaking routine and allowing you to meet people from all over the world.
So the next time you find yourself heading out on a shopping spree to lift your mood, why not put that money towards a flight instead and come to Umbria – Italy’s green heart – with your family and friends ?
What’s going on in the green heart of Italy in 2020?
Have you ever heard the heavy breathing of galloping horses? The lance spearing the ring followed by a resounding applause. Have you ever listened to the notes of a sax during a street concert?
Were you ever touched by the delicate harmony of a ballet?
Whether you are interested in gastronomy, visual arts or music, nature or sports, Umbria is a never-ending spectacle, all year round.
The month of May is a particular rich one. From the “Calendimaggio Festival” in Assisi dedicated to St. Francis when flower arrangements adorn the streets and the local townspeople dress in colourful period costumes to the “Corsa dei Ceri” (Race of the Candles) in Gubbio where participants compete as opposing teams representing either St-Ubaldo, St-Anthony or St-Giorgio each carrying a “candle” representing their Saint.
in June don’t miss the “Giorni delle Rose” (The Days of the Roses) event in Spello if you like flowers, a three-day flora exhibition dedicated to roses.
And of course, the internationally acclaimed “Spoleto Festival” in July is one to mark in your diary. This art, theatre, film, ballet, opera and music festival takes place in several venues around Spoleto. Due to its popularity, tickets go fast, so book early!
I am sure there will be chocolate lovers among you, so this event is dedicated to you. Head to Perugia in October and attend “Eurochocolate”, a much-anticipated festival in celebration of chocolate.
Events in Umbria are too many to list, so visit our comprehensive events calendar.
And don’t forget, Le Torri di Bagnara Castles’ dedicated Local Team will be at your disposal – from the moment of the booking until you return home – to design your tailor-made program of activities and excursions, plan easy access to concerts & events, golf, wineries and much more.
